A little about moi…

I AM Dawn Bliss, a Chicago & Miami-based professional makeup artist with over 30 years of experience in the Fashion & Beauty Industry. My fascination with the art and ritual of transformation led me to study Fashion Merchandising at Illinois State University, all the while experimenting with my own image and the appearance of others. After a few years working in the Couture and Designer Sportswear departments at Neiman Marcus and Saks 5th Avenue, I made the natural transition to Professional Makeup Artist in 1998, where my extensive database of film and fashion references allowed me to create a portfolio of different looks on my clients.

I later created the mobile makeup artistry business Edit Faces (now Dawn Bliss Beauty) from the standpoint that there is no "good" or "bad" makeup, only successful or poorly executed makeup applications involving a series of "edits." Having a neutral approach to makeup allows me to interpret a variety of looks based upon my clients’ needs. Whether it’s a soft, fresh face for an outdoor soiree, glam that pops at night, or a polished professional look for corporate content, the Dawn Bliss Beauty signature is transformation, marked by flawless skin with an emphasis on the eyes…a process I’ve coined “Glamsformation!”

Over the past 2 decades, I have traveled to St. Barths, Hawaii, Miami, LA, NY, Boston, Las Vegas, and Mexico, to provide makeup services for my clients. From 2013 to 2015, I was one of two makeup artists working behind the scenes at ABC's Windy City Live, preparing hosts Val Warner, Ji Suk Yi, and Ryan Chiavarini along with celebrity guests such as Neo, Giuliana Rancic, and Jim Belushi for the daily live broadcast. I've glammed models for Chicago Fashion Week and have had my work published in Chicago Magazine, Michigan Avenue Magazine, Grace Ormonde Wedding Style, Chicago Style Weddings as well as many trade publications.
